Bentley Unveils Torcal as First All-Electric Luxury SUV

Bentley Motors Limited announced the Torcal, its first fully electric SUV, which will make its global debut in London on September 23, 2026.

Bentley Motors Limited revealed the name of its first all-electric vehicle, the Torcal, an ultra-luxury urban SUV scheduled for a global debut in London on September 23, 2026. The vehicle marks a strategic pivot from traditional combustion engines, such as the W12, as the brand seeks to compete with electric offerings from Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce.

Built on the Volkswagen Group's Premium Platform Electric (PPE), the Torcal shares architecture with the electric Porsche Cayenne. The five-meter-long SUV is expected to offer a range exceeding 300 miles. Its name is derived from the Latin word torquere, referencing electric torque, and the El Torcal de Antequera limestone formations in Spain.

Pre-production models shown at the company's Crewe facility feature an illuminated upright grille, diamond-motif lighting, and an interior combining digital displays with physical switchgear. Prototype testing has already taken place in the Arctic Circle and at the Nürburgring in Germany. The Torcal will join the Bentayga, Bacalar, and Batur in the company's existing model lineup.
