Maruti Suzuki Reports Record Sales Amid 26 Percent Profit Drop

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd achieved record quarterly sales volumes and revenue growth despite a 26.36 percent decline in consolidated net profit for Q2 FY27.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd reported a 26.36 percent year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit for the second quarter of FY27, falling to Rs 2,466.1 crore from Rs 3,349 crore in the previous year. This profit dip occurred despite a 26 percent increase in revenue from operations, which reached Rs 53,355.5 crore.

The company achieved its highest-ever quarterly total sales volume of 6,96,654 units. This growth was driven by a 68.2 percent increase in SUV sales and a 35.9 percent rise in small car sales, pushing the company's domestic market share up by 2.2 percentage points to 40.8 percent.

While capacity additions helped the carmaker meet rising demand, pending bookings remained high at approximately 2,00,000 units. In contrast, export sales declined slightly to 1,08,119 units, a trend the company attributed to a challenging geopolitical situation.
