Meta Develops Project Hatch Autonomous AI Agent

Meta Platforms Incorporated is developing an autonomous AI agent internally called Project Hatch designed to execute complex computer-based tasks on behalf of users. According to an internal memo, the agent can access a user's computer to conduct deep research, fill out forms, and make purchases.

The tool integrates with third-party applications including Spotify, OpenTable, and Instagram to handle logistics such as ordering food or booking restaurant reservations. Meta is currently testing the agent with employees outside of its Superintelligence Labs group to refine the product before a general release.

Meta positions Project Hatch as a general consumer product to compete with similar AI agents from Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI. While the company has not confirmed a formal launch timeline or pricing, reports indicate a potential release in the coming weeks with a subscription fee that could reach 200 dollars per month.
