JD Vance Calls Abdul El-Sayed Evil at Michigan Rally

Vice President JD Vance called Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed "very, very evil" during a Monday campaign rally in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Campaigning for Republican Mike Rogers, Vance accused El-Sayed of eroding the foundations of common citizenship and heightening racial and religious divisions.

The confrontation turned personal as Vance responded to El-Sayed's previous comments regarding Second Lady Usha Vance. Specifically, El-Sayed had questioned whether the Vice President's late grandfather would have approved of his interracial marriage. Vance told the candidate to "keep my wife’s name the hell out of your mouth because she’s way out of your league."

El-Sayed countered by calling Vance a "sock puppet" and argued that true evil consists of removing healthcare from working people to provide tax breaks for billionaires. He further criticized the administration's trade war with Canada and suggested that Michigan voters would send Vance "back to Ohio" in November.

The clash occurs within a competitive Senate race to replace retiring Democrat Gary Peters. Vance's attacks follow previous controversies involving El-Sayed's remarks about a synagogue attack in West Bloomfield Township, as Republicans seek to damage the candidate's standing with Jewish voters.
