Waymo to Launch Toronto Robotaxi Service by 2028

Waymo announced plans to launch its first Canadian autonomous ride-hailing service in Toronto by 2028. The expansion is part of a broader strategy to grow beyond the United States, with planned entries into Tokyo and London.

To support the deployment of the Waymo Driver, the company will begin mapping Toronto and engaging with local authorities. Waymo will partner with Element Fleet Management to handle fleet operations within the city.

The expansion is expected to create hundreds of jobs across several operational roles, including customer service, validation driving, and fleet maintenance.
