Circle Internet Group Reports $701 Million Q2 Revenue

Circle Internet Group reported second-quarter revenue of $701 million, missing analyst forecasts due to a decline in USDC stablecoin circulation.

Circle Internet Group Inc. reported second-quarter revenue of $701 million, a 7% increase that failed to meet the average analyst forecast of $712 million. This shortfall coincided with a decline in the circulation of the company's USDC stablecoin, which fell to $73.4 billion as of June 30 from a peak of approximately $79.6 billion in March.

Despite the revenue miss, the company reported a net income of $48 million, surpassing the $43 million expected by analysts. Chief Executive Officer Jeremy Allaire attributed the financial performance to a slowing cryptocurrency market and the current interest rate environment.

The company's stock has dropped roughly 62% over the past year. This decline is linked to rising competition in the payments sector and legislative uncertainty surrounding the Clarity Act. Additionally, Morgan Stanley analysts downgraded the company to underweight, citing structural and tactical headwinds.
