Adobe Launches Free Premiere Video Editing App for Android

Adobe released a free mobile version of its Premiere video editing software for Android devices on September 24, 2026. Available via the Google Play Store, the app targets content creators for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. It supports 4K resolution and provides professional tools including a multi-track timeline, frame-accurate editing, audio extraction, and an adaptive interface compatible with foldable phones.

The application includes an AI-powered Enhance Audio tool to reduce background noise and integrates Adobe Firefly generative AI for tasks like image-to-video conversion, text-to-video, and Generative Fill. While the core editing software is free and contains no ads, watermarks, or forced login requirements, Adobe has placed generative AI features and cloud storage behind a paywall requiring a subscription or Creative Cloud plan.

To run the app, devices must operate on Android 13 or later with at least 5GB of RAM. Adobe plans to introduce future updates featuring keyframing, cropping, beat detection, Adobe Fonts, and synchronization with the Premiere Pro desktop application. As part of this transition in its Android mobile offering, the company is sunsetting Premiere Rush on September 30.
