Samsung and Barclays Launch First US Co-Branded Galaxy Card
Samsung Electronics and Barclays launched the Samsung Galaxy Card on the Visa network to integrate financial services directly into the Samsung Wallet ecosystem.
On July 20, 2026, Samsung Electronics and Barclays launched the Samsung Galaxy Card, marking Samsung's first co-branded credit card program in the United States. Issued on the Visa network, the card is designed as a digital wallet-native product, integrating applications, cash rewards, and account management directly within the Samsung Wallet to compete with the Apple Card ecosystem.
The card features no annual fee and a tiered cash rewards structure: 5% on direct Samsung purchases in the U.S., 3% on Samsung Wallet transactions, 2% on eligible streaming services, and 1% on all other spending. New qualifying cardmembers can earn a $200 bonus after spending $2,000 within the first 90 days. Users can choose between a virtual card or a physical version made from recycled steel. Additionally, the card provides a 20% discount on the Samsung VIP Advantage membership.
Technical integration is a primary focus of the partnership, with Barclays extending its service APIs into the Samsung operating system to reduce friction and keep the user experience within the Samsung ecosystem. Applications open on July 22, 2026, via Samsung.com and retail stores, coinciding with a Samsung Unpacked event. Samsung executives characterized the collaboration with Barclays as a long-term strategic relationship, indicating intentions to explore further financial products and capabilities beyond credit cards in the future.
