LVMH Third-Quarter Sales Growth Misses Analyst Expectations
LVMH reported a 1 per cent organic sales increase in the third quarter, falling short of projections due to a slump in fashion and leather goods.
LVMH reported third-quarter organic sales growth of 1 per cent year-on-year, totaling €18.28 billion. The result fell short of the 1.3 per cent increase projected by analysts.
The decline was driven primarily by the fashion and leather goods division, which includes Louis Vuitton and Dior. This segment saw organic sales drop by 5 per cent, a steeper decline than the 1.8 per cent decrease analysts had expected.
As the world's largest luxury group and the first major firm to release third-quarter results, the performance heightens investor concerns regarding a broader three-year slowdown in the $350 billion luxury sector and its ability to recover momentum.
