Stellantis Global Shipments Decline 1% in Third Quarter
Stellantis reported a 1% drop in global third-quarter shipments to 1.3 million vehicles, driven by North American production shutdowns and regional conflicts.
Stellantis reported a 1% decline in global third-quarter shipments, totaling approximately 1.3 million vehicles. The decrease follows a €60 billion turnaround plan announced by CEO Antonio Filosa in May to combat weak sales and declining market share.
Regional performance varied significantly. Shipments in North America fell 12% to 357,000 units, a drop attributed to a summer production shutdown that specifically impacted the Compass and Jeep Grand Cherokee models. Shipments in the Middle East and Africa dropped 21% to 75,000 units, which the company attributed to regional conflicts affecting Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Turkey.
Europe provided the only growth, with shipments rising 10% to 588,000 units. This increase was supported by demand for electric vehicles and the distribution of 44,000 vehicles from partner Leapmotor. The company is currently unveiling new concept cars and vehicles at the Paris Motor Show and is scheduled to release full third-quarter results on October 28.
