The Royal Mint Releases Star Trek 60th Anniversary Coins
The Royal Mint launched two collectable 50p coins to commemorate 60 years of the Star Trek franchise in partnership with Paramount EMEA.
The Royal Mint released two collectable 50p coins on September 3, 2026, to mark the 60th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise. The first coin, available immediately, features the Vulcan salute and the phrase "live long and prosper." The second coin depicts four spacecraft from different eras: the U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, Enterprise – NCC-1701-D, and the Klingon Bird of Prey.
Both designs are available in black and white or color versions, with the color finishes inspired by the transition to color television during the original series' 1966 debut. While the coins can be purchased as a set immediately, the spacecraft design will not be available for individual purchase until November.
Prices for the coins start at £19.95, valuing them at least 40 times their face value. The collaboration with Paramount EMEA aims to provide a lasting keepsake for the franchise's dedicated collector community.
