Israeli Forces Invade Tal Abu Qubais in Southern Syria

Israeli forces invaded the Tal Abu Qubais area of southern Syria on Monday as part of a broader expansion into the region.

Israeli forces invaded the Tal Abu Qubais area in the Quneitra countryside of southern Syria on Monday morning. The operation involved two tanks and several military personnel carriers, following a previous incursion into the village of Ain Ziwan where Israeli forces established a checkpoint.

Israeli military forces have also targeted the Dara’a province using artillery strikes, ground attacks, and intensive warplane flights. These actions are part of a strategic expansion into southern Syria, including the Jabal al-Sheikh highlands, which began in December 2024 after the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad. The incursions target Syrian defensive installations and equipment to exploit a security vacuum in the region.

Amidst these military operations, new United States-backed officials in Syria have suggested normalizing relations with Israel.
