Coles and Woolworths Delist Sara Lee Ice Cream Tubs
Coles and Woolworths have removed Sara Lee one-litre ice cream tubs from their stores, shifting the brand's availability to independent retailers.
Sara Lee has shifted its ice cream distribution to selected independent retailers after being delisted by Australia's two largest supermarket chains. The brand confirmed the change following the removal of its one-litre tubs from freezer aisles.
Woolworths Group phased out the product approximately two years ago, while Coles Supermarkets removed the tubs more recently. This move follows a broader industry trend where major supermarket chains expand their own private-label ice cream ranges to offer similar flavors at lower prices and secure more shelf space.
In response to the delisting, the company announced that its ice cream is now "exclusively available at selected independent retailers!"
