Ericsson Exports India-Made Antennas to European Markets

Ericsson is exporting antennas manufactured in India to Europe and global markets after producing over 15,000 units through its local Indian ecosystem.

Swedish telecom equipment manufacturer Ericsson announced it will export antennas produced in India to Europe and other global markets. Speaking at the India Mobile Congress 2026, the company revealed that it has manufactured more than 15,000 antennas and 25 million components through its local Indian ecosystem since July 2025.

This expansion positions India as a key export hub within the company's global engineering and supply chain network. The initiative involves an end-to-end ecosystem that combines local sourcing and manufacturing with global engineering capabilities. These antenna systems are designed to improve network coverage, capacity, and spectrum efficiency while reducing energy consumption for operators transitioning to 5G Standalone and AI-driven operations.

Company leadership noted that India's rapid 5G rollout and mid-band coverage, which reaches 95% of the population compared to a 45% global average, provide a competitive advantage for the transition toward 6G. Ericsson is further expanding local capabilities in sourcing and production to support AI-ready networks, which are necessary for the deployment of drones and autonomous vehicles.
