Apple Releases iOS 27 Beta 3 with Siri AI Controls

Apple released iOS 27 Beta 3 featuring customizable Siri voice controls, AI-powered accessibility tools, and updated interface designs for developers ahead of a September launch.

Apple released iOS 27 Beta 3 on July 6, 2026, introducing significant generative AI enhancements and visual overhauls. The update activates new Siri voice customization sliders for pace and expressivity, allowing users on compatible devices like the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air to modify the assistant's tone and intonation. These personalization choices also extend to Apple Maps and Safari.

New AI-driven features include Live Recognition, an accessibility tool that describes surroundings via the camera, and Safari upgrades such as automatic tab organization and AI-prompted browser extensions. The update also debuts a Liquid Glass-style interface for apps like Reminders and Stocks, a redesigned Control Center, and expanded 5G+ support for carriers in India. For Home app users, Apple Intelligence features now require a 2TB iCloud+ plan.

Alongside the OS update, Apple released beta firmware for AirPods Pro and Max models. This firmware introduces a streamlined Adaptive Audio intensity slider and custom EQ support. According to reports, the company is also developing camera-equipped AirPods for late 2027 to provide environmental context for Siri.

While developers have noted performance gains and higher Geekbench scores, some bugs persist, including issues deleting files from the Recently Deleted folder. A public beta is expected around July 13, 2026, with the final official release scheduled for September to coincide with a new iPhone lineup. Separately, Apple released the fourth developer beta of iOS 26.6 to introduce anti-theft locks and prepare the Spotlight index for the upcoming iOS 27 AI features.
