NCSC Orders Arrest of Congress Leader Amarinder Raja Warring

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes directed Punjab authorities to arrest Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Amarinder Raja Warring within five days. The order stems from alleged derogatory remarks Warring made against the late former Union Home Minister Buta Singh during an election rally in Tarn Taran.

Commission Chairman Kishor Makwana expressed serious concern over delays in the investigation and the failure of authorities to submit a requested Action Taken Report. The commission recommended that the government examine accountability for these delays and initiate departmental action against investigating officers if willful neglect is discovered.

Additionally, the commission recommended immediate police protection for Sarabjot Singh, the son of Buta Singh and the petitioner in the case. This protection is requested for both Delhi and Punjab due to alleged ongoing threats against him.
