Brookfield Acquires ESR India Logistics Portfolio for ₹4,300 Crore
Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. committed ₹4,300 crore to acquire ESR India's industrial and logistics portfolio, marking its first entry into the Indian warehousing market.
Brookfield Asset Management Ltd. has committed ₹4,300 crore, approximately $444 million to $450 million, to acquire a 100 per cent interest in the industrial and logistics portfolio of ESR India. The deal includes eight Grade A industrial parks covering 10.5 million square feet across 400 acres in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Chennai, and Kolkata.
Approximately 98 per cent of the portfolio is currently leased to tenants in the logistics and industrials segment. While Brookfield already maintains a significant presence in India's office and hospitality sectors, this transaction represents the firm's first entry into the Indian warehousing and industrial real estate market.
ESR India will continue to manage the assets in the near term to ensure continuity for customers. Abhijit Malkani, CEO of ESR India, stated the transaction reflects the quality of the portfolio and strong institutional demand for modern logistics assets in the country.
