Reliance Industries Shares Rise as Jio Files IPO Prospectus
Reliance Industries shares rose over 3% after its subsidiary Jio filed a prospectus to raise approximately ₹30,200 crore through an initial public offering.
Reliance Industries Ltd saw its shares climb more than 3% on Thursday, hitting an intraday high of ₹1,212.50 on the National Stock Exchange. The price increase followed the filing of a Red Herring Prospectus for the initial public offering of Jio Platforms.
Market analysts linked the rally to increased clarity regarding the parent company's shareholding in Reliance Infocomm and Reliance Telecom. Investors expect the IPO to unlock significant value for the group.
Jio intends to raise approximately ₹30,200 crore from the offering. The company plans to use these funds to reduce borrowings and lower interest payment pressure, a move expected to improve profits and margins across the broader Reliance Group.
