L Catterton Invests $30 Million in Nandhana Foods
L Catterton has invested $30 million for a minority stake in Nandhana Foods to expand the Andhra cuisine restaurant chain across India.
Investment firm L Catterton has entered into a definitive agreement to invest $30 million in Nandhana Foods Private Ltd, a restaurant chain specializing in authentic Andhra cuisine. The investment provides the global consumer-focused fund with a minority stake in the company, which has operated for over 30 years.
Nandhana Foods intends to use the capital and L Catterton's industry expertise to strengthen operations, deepen its presence within South India, and penetrate new markets. L Catterton brings a history of investing in approximately 30 restaurant businesses worldwide, including Dishoom, PF Chang’s, and the Japan-based group Huge.
Vikram Kumaraswamy, a partner at L Catterton, noted that the founding family of Nandhana Foods built a scalable business with attractive unit economics. R Ravichandar, founder and managing director of Nandhana Foods, stated the company is pleased to partner with the firm due to its track record of creating value for portfolio companies globally.
