Gartner Forecasts Semiconductor Revenue to Hit $1.9 Trillion by 2027
Gartner projects global semiconductor revenue will reach $1.9 trillion by 2027, driven by AI infrastructure investments and a strong memory pricing cycle.
Gartner, Inc. projects global semiconductor revenue will reach $1.6 trillion in 2026 and climb to $1.9 trillion by 2027. This trajectory represents a 92 percent increase over the $809 billion recorded in 2025, fueled primarily by sustained investment in AI infrastructure and a strong memory pricing cycle.
Memory revenue is expected to exceed $1 trillion in 2027, accounting for 54 percent of total semiconductor revenue in 2026. Analysts indicate that while additional capacity will enter the market in 2027, supply-demand conditions will remain tight. This pressure stems from the high memory consumption of AI server deployments and sustained demand for high-bandwidth memory.
The industry is undergoing a structural shift in value creation. The AI data center ecosystem is projected to grow from 36.5 percent of semiconductor revenue in 2026 to more than 53 percent by 2030.
