WSP Global Inc. Agrees to Acquire GCM Corpo Inc.
WSP Global Inc. will acquire Canadian engineering firm GCM Corpo Inc. to expand its energy and industrial consulting capabilities across Canada.
WSP Global Inc. entered into an agreement to acquire GCM Corpo Inc., a Canadian provider of engineering consulting and specialist services for the energy and industrial sectors. The acquisition is designed to strengthen WSP's capabilities in industrial digitalization, process engineering, and operational technology cybersecurity as part of its 2025-2027 Global Strategic Action Plan.
GCM Corpo employs roughly 600 professionals across Atlantic, Western, and Québec Canada. As part of the deal, WSP will pay a portion of the purchase price in common shares to sellers, including GCM Corpo's largest shareholder, Fonds de solidarité FTQ.
CEO Alexandre L'Heureux stated the transaction reflects confidence in Canada's potential as a leader in the mining, industrial, and energy sectors. GCM Corpo President Jonathan Clément noted that joining WSP would allow the firm to accelerate its momentum and pursue ambitions from a stronger position. Janie C. Béïque, CEO of Fonds de solidarité FTQ, expressed support for the move, describing WSP as a flagship of Québec engineering.
The transaction has received conditional approval from the Toronto Stock Exchange. It is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approval.
