Suvendu Adhikari Pledges Deportations and Corruption Crackdown in West Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency on May 18, 2026, to outline government priorities following a landslide victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state assembly elections. Adhikari announced that the government will secure borders and deport illegal infiltrators who were previously detected and deleted from voter lists.

Adhikari pledged a legal crackdown on atrocities committed against women, assigning the responsibility to IPS Damayanti Sen, the Member Secretary of Justice Sampati Chatterjee's committee. He also targeted several individuals for looting and the illegal accumulation of wealth, specifically naming Abhishek Banerjee, Raju Naskar, Sona Pappu, and the son of Javed Khan.

To initiate legal action against these individuals, Adhikari flagged their activities to the municipal affairs secretary and the commissioner of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. He stated his intent to put these individuals behind bars as part of a broader effort to fulfill party commitments and ensure national security.
