Zipline Raises $1.5 Billion to Expand US Drone Network

Zipline raised $1.5 billion to build a nationwide drone delivery network and expanded its partnerships with Walmart and Uber.

Zipline raised $1.5 billion in a funding round led by Paradigm, WCM Investment Management, and Layer Global, bringing its post-money valuation to $21.5 billion. The company will use the capital to increase hiring and expand its United States manufacturing facilities to support a nationwide drone delivery network.

As part of this growth, Zipline signed a multi-year agreement with Walmart to launch 300 additional drone delivery sites across the country. Uber is also scaling its integration, targeting one million daily deliveries via Zipline by 2029. These expansions follow strong performance in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, where Zipline completed over one million deliveries this year.

Zipline reports that its restaurant partners have seen a 26% increase in delivery gross merchandise value. The company is also continuing international efforts, including the construction of a medical delivery network in Côte d’Ivoire designed to serve 12 million people.
