Russia Warns NATO Against Isolating Kaliningrad Exclave

The Government of Russia warned NATO that it is prepared to use its entire available arsenal of weapons to defend the Kaliningrad exclave if the alliance attempts to isolate the region. In an informal diplomatic document delivered via the Russian embassy in Belgium, Moscow accused NATO of conducting reckless and irresponsible military exercises near its western borders that simulate offensive operations.

Kaliningrad serves as Russia's only ice-free Baltic port and houses the headquarters of the Russian Baltic Fleet, situated between NATO members Poland and Lithuania. Russia claims these exercises threaten the strategic security of the exclave.

NATO spokesperson Allison Hart rejected the accusations, condemning the threat of force and the use of irresponsible nuclear rhetoric. Hart asserted that the alliance's activities are exclusively defensive and pose no risk to Russian territory. She characterized Russia's hybrid tactics as a sign of desperation and reaffirmed the alliance's commitment to defending all allied territory and supporting Ukraine.
