Denmark Supports India's Bid for Permanent UN Security Council Seat

Denmark's Ambassador to India, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, announced that Denmark supports India's bid for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council. Speaking in New Delhi on September 26, 2026, Kristensen stated that bilateral ties between the two nations are growing by the day.

Economic cooperation has expanded significantly, with over 250 Danish companies currently operating in India and employing more than 100,000 people. Kristensen noted that the India-EU Free Trade Agreement is expected to further accelerate exports and economic investment. He also highlighted the social dimension of the relationship, identifying Indians as the fastest-growing migrant group in Denmark.

Beyond trade and diplomacy, the two countries have established cooperation in sustainability and water management. This includes joint projects in Uttar Pradesh under India's Jal Jeevan Mission.
