Starlink Launches Satellite Internet Service in Vietnam

The satellite internet service operated by Space Exploration Technologies Corp. has begun accepting residential and corporate orders in Vietnam. Residential plans start at 1.13 million dong ($43) per month with hardware costs of 8.66 million dong, while corporate subscriptions start at 1.48 million dong.

The service is managed by Starlink Services Vietnam, a local unit established in September 2025 with 30 billion dong in charter capital. This launch follows a March 2025 decision by the Government of Vietnam to allow the service on a trial basis through the end of 2030. As part of this agreement, authorities waived foreign ownership limits.

Vietnamese regulators have capped the trial period at 600,000 subscribers and authorized the construction of four ground gateway stations. Vietnam becomes the sixth Southeast Asian market to offer Starlink, joining Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and East Timor.
