Kioxia Shares Face Pressure From Record Margin Buying
Kioxia Holdings Corp. shares are under downward pressure as leveraged long positions reach a record 920 billion yen on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Kioxia Holdings Corp. is experiencing significant downward pressure on its share price driven by a massive buildup of leveraged long positions. As of October 15, outstanding margin-buying positions in the stock totaled approximately 920 billion yen ($5.8 billion), marking the highest level of any company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Market conditions have deteriorated as trading turnover plummeted 84% from its peak to 766 billion yen by Friday. This combination of falling prices and reduced liquidity has placed margin traders at high risk of forced liquidations, which could further accelerate the decline in share value.
