Conservatives Lead Tight British Columbia Snap Election Polls
The Conservative Party of British Columbia holds a narrow lead over the NDP in a snap election where third parties may decide the outcome.
The Conservative Party of British Columbia currently leads the 2026 snap election with 42% support, according to a Leger poll of 1,000 residents. The British Columbia New Democratic Party follows closely with 40% support, creating a tight race where several ridings may be decided by fewer than 100 votes.
Three smaller parties are positioned to influence the final result. The Green Party holds 9% support under leader Emily Lowan, who has moved the party toward a progressive, worker-first platform that includes a proposed wealth tax. Meanwhile, OneBC and CentreBC hold 4% and 3% support respectively, with both parties attempting to draw voters away from the Conservative coalition.
The outcome depends heavily on strategic voting. Progressive voters may shift their support to the NDP to block a Conservative victory, while the Greens could potentially hold the balance of power in post-election negotiations depending on seat distributions.
