Port Colborne Sets Deadlines for October Municipal Elections

The Government of Port Colborne is preparing for municipal elections scheduled for October 26, 2026, with a focus on candidate nominations and structural changes to the city's voting districts.
City Clerk Charlotte Madden announced during a special city council meeting that the nomination period for mayor and ward council positions will close on August 21, 2026, at 2 p.m. To support the process, the city is conducting a communications campaign to inform residents that the number of wards has been reduced from four to three.
In addition to candidate recruitment, the city is seeking paid election workers. Applications for these positions remain open until August 31.
