Manoj Sinha Allocates Portfolios to Jammu and Kashmir Ministers

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha distributed government portfolios among eight ministers, while the regional government established a November availability roster for administrative secretaries in Srinagar.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha notified the allocation of government portfolios to eight ministers in Jammu and Kashmir on October 28, 2026. This distribution follows a recent expansion of the Council of Ministers. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary received charge of Public Works, Industries and Commerce, Labour and Employment, and Skill Development. Other key assignments include Ali Mohammad Sagar overseeing Revenue and Power Development, Sakeena Masood Itoo heading Health and Medical Education, and Javid Ahmed Dar managing Finance and Agriculture Production. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will retain all departments and subjects not specifically assigned to other ministers.

These political appointments follow an administrative directive issued on October 27. The Government of Jammu and Kashmir released Government Order No. 1681-JK(GAD), establishing a roster for Administrative Secretaries to remain available at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar throughout November 2026. The schedule divides duties into four weekly slots from November 2 to November 27, assigning specific officials such as Saurabh Bhagat, Zubair Ahmad, and Chandraker Bharti to ensure continuous administrative presence.
