AMD Stock Surges as AI Data Center Revenue Climbs

Advanced Micro Devices saw its stock rise up to 164% in 2026 following a 107% increase in second-quarter data center revenue.

Advanced Micro Devices experienced a stock price increase between 140% and 164% in 2026, outpacing both the S&P 500 and its primary rival, Nvidia. This growth follows a 107% year-over-year increase in second-quarter data center revenue, which reached $6.7 billion.

The company expanded its market share through partnerships with AI hyperscalers including OpenAI, Microsoft, Meta Platforms, and Anthropic. To compete with Nvidia GPUs and Intel server processors, the company introduced MI400-series accelerators, the Helios rack-scale platform, and Epyc server processors.

While the company projects 75% growth in 2027, analysts warn that the stock valuation is extremely high, with forward P/E ratios between 35 and 68. Market observers suggest the current price already accounts for much of this future growth. The company is scheduled to report third-quarter earnings on November 3, with consensus estimates set at $13.1 billion in revenue and $1.93 EPS.
