UN Security Council Hears Condemnations of Israel's Gaza Actions
Palestinian and Chinese diplomats urged the UN Security Council to end the humanitarian crisis and stop military expansion in the Gaza Strip.
During a UN Security Council emergency meeting on Thursday, diplomatic representatives condemned the ongoing humanitarian crisis and military operations in the Gaza Strip. Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian envoy to the UN, demanded an immediate and unconditional end to what he termed a manufactured human catastrophe. Mansour accused Israel of destroying hospitals and schools and restricting essential services, alleging that over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed since a ceasefire agreement took effect following more than two years of war.
China's Permanent Representative to the UN, Fu Cong, joined the criticism, targeting Israel's efforts to expand its military occupation. Fu Cong specifically highlighted concerns over Israel's objective to control 70 percent of the enclave's territory by enlarging the yellow line. He urged adherence to international humanitarian law to ensure the delivery of urgent supplies.
These diplomatic pressures follow reports from Gaza health authorities stating that Israeli military operations have killed 1,005 people and injured 3,157 others since the first phase of the ceasefire began in October 2025.
