Pinterest Deploys Nvidia Blackwell GPUs for AI Infrastructure

Pinterest developed a new AI layer using Nvidia's accelerated computing platform to streamline the deployment of AI products. By utilizing Blackwell GPUs and Nvidia Dynamo, the social-media platform can now implement visual search, content understanding, and safety systems without building custom infrastructure for every individual tool.

The system leverages Pinterest's visual embeddings and more than 80 billion monthly searches to improve AI-powered discovery and shopping. A key result of this integration is the Pinterest Assistant AI shopping agent, which can now process 25 times more visual context per request. Testing shows that precomputed visual representations have reduced overall latency and improved response startup times.

This technical shift follows a five-year collaboration between the two companies that involved the use of more than 14,000 GPUs.
