AERA Approves New Tariff Structure for Bengaluru Airport
The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India approved revised passenger and aircraft fees for Kempegowda International Airport effective September 1, 2026.
The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India approved a new aeronautical tariff structure for Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, effective September 1, 2026. The revised structure shifts costs by introducing a User Development Fee for arriving passengers—Rs 125 for domestic and Rs 426 for international—while reducing fees for those departing.
Domestic departure fees will drop from Rs 550 to Rs 300, and international departure fees will decrease from Rs 1,500 to Rs 997. These rates apply to tickets issued on or after the effective date and cover the fourth control period ending March 31, 2031. Additionally, aircraft landing charges were revised to Rs 325 per metric tonne for domestic flights and Rs 455 for international flights.
To encourage new airline operations and routes, the regulator approved a Variable Tariff Plan. Bangalore International Airport Limited noted that these rates will remain in place until August 2029, after which tariffs may be modified based on the completion of Terminal 2 Phase 2 and other airside and landside facilities.
