Singapore Digital Economy Reaches S$144.1 Billion in 2025

The Infocomm Media Development Authority reports Singapore's digital economy grew to S$144.1 billion, driven by non-tech sector digitalization and expanded AI adoption.

The Infocomm Media Development Authority reported that Singapore's digital economy grew to S$144.1 billion in 2025, accounting for 19.3% of the nation's gross domestic product. This increase from S$136.5 billion in 2024 was primarily driven by digitalization in non-tech sectors, such as finance, insurance, and wholesale trade, which contributed S$97 billion. The information and communications sector accounted for the remaining S$47.1 billion.

Tech employment expanded by 3.8% to 222,200 professionals, with 59% of these roles situated in non-tech industries. Median monthly wages for tech professionals rose to S$8,000, surpassing the overall resident median of S$5,000. Growth was particularly strong in AI, data, and cybersecurity roles.

AI adoption reached 70.4% among large local enterprises and 23.4% among small and medium-sized enterprises. By 2026, 85.7% of workers reported using AI at work. To sustain this momentum, the government is expanding the TechSkills Accelerator under the National AI Impact Programme. The initiative aims to upskill 40,000 tech professionals and train 100,000 non-tech professionals in domain-specific AI skills by 2029.
