FTC Sets Conditions for Publicis Acquisition of LiveRamp
The Federal Trade Commission imposed competition safeguards on Publicis Groupe's acquisition of LiveRamp to protect the digital advertising and audience data markets.
The Federal Trade Commission imposed specific conditions on the acquisition of LiveRamp Holdings Inc. by Publicis Groupe S.A. to prevent the transaction from harming competition in the media agency and audience data services markets.
To finalize the deal, Publicis must guarantee neutral and nondiscriminatory access to LiveRamp's products and services for its competitors. The commission also requires the establishment of firewalls to block the parent company from accessing LiveRamp's customer data.
The agency stated these measures are necessary to preserve competition within the digital advertising ecosystem.
