Snap Inc. Launches Specs AR Glasses and AI Assistant

Snap Inc. introduced Specs augmented reality glasses and a proactive AI assistant called Specs Intelligence, while expanding into the enterprise market through strategic partnerships.

Snap Inc. has launched Specs, its first consumer augmented reality glasses priced at $2,195, designed to function as a wearable computer. The device features an integrated display and a self-contained design to improve user comfort. To support the rollout later this year, the company partnered with Verizon Communications Inc. to provide retail trial locations and custom wireless data plans.

Alongside the hardware, the company introduced Specs Intelligence, an anticipatory AI service that manages daily tasks and long-term goals by connecting to accounts like Gmail and Slack. The assistant surfaces information without prompts, such as consolidating travel plans or highlighting meeting decisions. It is currently available in preview for iOS, with a waitlist open for Mac users. Snap stated that personal content from these accounts will not be used for personalized ads or to train AI models.

CEO Evan Spiegel is also expanding the Specs ecosystem into the enterprise market through partnerships with Nvidia Inc., Amazon Web Services, and Salesforce, Inc. This initiative targets professional use cases, such as field technicians using digital instructions. Spiegel aims to reposition the device as a computer rather than a camera accessory, leveraging Nvidia's open-source XR AI platform and Salesforce's agentic platforms to simplify business adoption.
