Ørsted Acquires Full Ownership of Gunfleet Sands Wind Farm

Ørsted is acquiring full ownership of the Gunfleet Sands 1 & 2 offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom. The energy company exercised its buyback right to purchase the remaining 49.9% stake from its investment partners for approximately £15 million.

Located 7 km off the coast of Essex, the 172 MW facility has been operational since 2010. The wind farm generates enough electricity to power more than 125,000 UK homes annually.

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions. The company expects to complete the acquisition in November 2026.
