China Completes Beam Erection for Tongjiang Super Major Bridge

Construction crews in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province completed the beam erection for the Tongjiang super major bridge on July 25, 2026. The bridge spans 10,435 meters and serves as a primary component of the larger capacity expansion and upgrading project for the Jiamusi-Tongjiang Railway.

Under the oversight of the Government of China, the project aims to enhance the efficiency of the 258-kilometer-long railway. Once the system becomes fully operational, it will increase transport capacity at Tongjiang port, which functions as a critical gateway for the eastern route of the China-Europe freight train service.
