Dylan Roberts Elected Colorado Senate Majority Leader
Dylan Roberts was elected Senate Majority Leader for Colorado's 76th General Assembly following a Democratic supermajority win in the midterm elections.
Colorado Democratic Senator Dylan Roberts was elected Senate Majority Leader on Thursday following the Tuesday midterm elections. Chosen by his colleagues during a caucus election for the 76th General Assembly, Roberts represents Senate District 8 and will now preside over legislative sessions, implement rules, and influence bill scheduling.
The leadership change follows a strong performance by the Colorado Democratic Party, which claims a supermajority in both the state house and senate. The party secured 24 of 35 senate seats and 45 of 65 house seats, although several races remain too close to call.
Roberts stated he is ready to move forward with a legislative agenda focused on lowering costs and improving lives. The next legislative session is scheduled to begin on January 11.
