Ukraine Drone Strikes Destroy 27% of Wildberries Warehouse Capacity

The Government of Ukraine has conducted a sustained drone campaign against Wildberries, Russia's largest e-commerce retailer, targeting at least 20 warehouses since July 18, 2026. The strikes have destroyed between 17% and 27% of the company's total warehousing capacity, including a record-distance hit on a facility in Yekaterinburg located 1,700 km from the border.

Ukraine justifies the attacks by claiming Wildberries supports the Russian war effort through the sale of dual-use goods, such as ammunition pouches and night-vision goggles. Ukrainian officials stated the objective is to "bring the war home" to ordinary Russians and force the financial collapse of the retailer.

The economic impact is severe, with direct damages to Wildberries estimated between 100bn and 200bn roubles and seller losses reaching up to 3bn euros. Tens of thousands of small businesses and franchisees face bankruptcy as deliveries plummet. While the Russian government has discussed state loans or tax breaks to prevent the company from collapsing, the Central Bank of Russia is monitoring the situation for potential inflationary shocks.

In retaliation, Russia has targeted commercial warehouses near Kyiv, alleging these sites are used to store drone components.
