Sandisk Announces 8-for-1 Stock Split Amid AI Growth

Sandisk will execute an 8-for-1 stock split on November 19 to increase share accessibility following a 252 percent stock gain in 2026.

Sandisk announced an 8-for-1 stock split scheduled to take effect after the market closes on November 19. The company stated the move aims to make shares more accessible to retail investors and employees. The decision follows a year of significant growth, with the company's stock gaining 252 percent in 2026 driven by high demand for AI infrastructure.

While investors speculated that Micron Technology might implement a similar split after its own stock rose 138 percent year-to-date, that company has pursued a different financial strategy. The board of directors at Micron Technology instead expanded its share repurchase authorization to 35.16 billion dollars on October 8. These buybacks may begin December 9, following the expiration of specific CHIPS Act funding restrictions.

Micron Technology's stock has recently declined to approximately 682 dollars, a 44 percent drop from its all-time high. This price correction has reduced the immediate practical need for a stock split compared to the trajectory seen at Sandisk.
