Small Businesses Use AI Agents to Compete With Corporations

Small businesses are adopting AI agents and automation tools to scale content production and operational efficiency while competing against larger corporate budgets.

Small businesses are increasingly deploying artificial intelligence to automate high-volume, low-value operational tasks, allowing lean teams to compete with the resources of larger corporations. This trend is highlighted by a report from the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which found that generative AI usage among small businesses rose to 58% in 2025.

Oren Kandel, founder of Munch Studio, developed an AI platform that functions as a social media manager to help founders increase posting frequency and engagement without sacrificing brand authenticity. Kandel advocates for a content strategy where 90% of posts offer educational or entertaining value rather than direct promotion, arguing that AI can level the playing field for owners who cannot afford full-time marketing teams.

Other industry leaders are pushing for the adoption of AI agents—software capable of executing complex, multi-step goals such as CRM management and outbound business development with minimal human oversight. Will Fan of NewCampus emphasizes that these agents optimize operating models for small and medium-sized businesses. However, experts caution against the use of generic AI content and warn that over-automating relationship-based roles may undermine trust and strategic alignment.
