India Rejects OIC Resolutions Over Jammu and Kashmir
The Ministry of External Affairs of India rejected OIC resolutions as malicious propaganda orchestrated by Pakistan to interfere in India's internal affairs.
The Ministry of External Affairs of India rejected resolutions passed by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) during a Council of Foreign Ministers' meeting in Baghdad on October 17-18, 2026. India characterized the references to Islamophobia and Jammu and Kashmir as "malicious, biased, and false," asserting that the OIC has been misused by Pakistan to advance a "bigoted agenda."
New Delhi maintained that the OIC has no legal standing or authority to comment on India's internal matters, reaffirming that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable parts of India. The ministry contrasted the economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370 with alleged human rights violations and violence against civilian protesters in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
India further claimed that Pakistan's focus on India is a "desperate attempt" to divert international attention from its own record of political instability, sectarian violence, and minority persecution. The ministry concluded that the OIC's endorsement of these narratives raises significant questions regarding the organization's credibility and integrity.
