Ireland Manufacturing Production Drops 16.4 Percent Annually

The Central Statistics Office of Ireland reported a 16.4 percent annual decline in manufacturing production for the period between March and May 2026.

The Central Statistics Office of Ireland reported a 1.4 percent decrease in Irish manufacturing industry production from March 2026 to May 2026 compared to the previous three-month period. On an annual basis, production in the sector fell by 16.4 percent compared to the same period in 2025.

The decline was most pronounced in the globalized Modern sector, comprising chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and computers and electronics, where annual production dropped by 18.0 percent. The Traditional sector experienced a smaller annual decrease of 8.6 percent.

While manufacturing turnover rose by 5.8 percent over the March-to-May quarter relative to the previous quarter, it recorded a significant annual decline of 23.4 percent. These figures reflect activity from industrial enterprises headquartered in Ireland, including both domestic and international operations.
