Oracle and Quantinuum Partner to Integrate Quantum Computing into OCI

Oracle and Quantinuum have entered a multi-year strategic partnership to integrate quantum computing capabilities into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Under the agreement, OCI customers will gain managed access to Quantinuum's Helios, a third-generation trapped-ion quantum computer featuring 98 physical qubits. The system will be deployed within a U.S.-based Oracle AI data center.

This integration allows developers and enterprise customers to combine quantum computing with OCI's existing high-performance computing (HPC) and GPU resources under a unified governance and access control model. The partnership specifically targets AI laboratories, academia, and research sectors to address computationally intensive challenges in drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling, and large-scale optimization.

Oracle plans to preview the quantum service in the coming months, utilizing Quantinuum's development stack and open-source hybrid-programming frameworks to enable the creation of quantum-classical applications. The collaboration aims to accelerate commercial adoption by creating a hybrid environment where quantum computing complements AI and classical supercomputing to improve compute efficiency and energy use. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
