Israel Defense Forces Arrest Palestinians in West Bank Raids

The Israel Defense Forces conducted a series of raids across the occupied West Bank between August 26 and August 28, resulting in the arrest of nine Palestinians and the injury of two others. On Wednesday, military forces arrested seven individuals in Jenin, Qalqilya, Hebron, and the Dheisheh refugee camp. During these operations, soldiers assaulted two men in Hebron and installed a gate in Qusra to isolate three homes already under an 18-day siege. Mayor Abdul Azim al-Wadi stated this action is worsening suffering for families facing shortages of food and medicine.

Later Wednesday evening, forces entered Beit 'Anan, northwest of Jerusalem, deploying tear gas and live ammunition. Two Palestinian men were injured, one of whom sustained a live round wound to the knee. The military also closed the Bir Nabala road and raided homes in the Silwan neighborhood of East Jerusalem.

On Friday, the military arrested two more Palestinians during raids in the village of Tell and the Qalandia refugee camp. In Tell, forces also confiscated a vehicle. Simultaneously, the military provided protection for hundreds of Israeli settlers who entered the village of Awarta to perform Talmudic rituals at Islamic shrines. During this incursion, the military seized a local house and converted it into a military post. Additional raids were reported in Al-Ma’sara and Tammun, though no arrests occurred in those locations.
