Truist Appoints Three Executives to Lead Consumer Banking

Truist Financial appointed three new executives to lead consumer and small business banking as part of a leadership reshuffle under CEO Mike Lyons.

Truist Financial appointed three new executives on Friday to lead its consumer and small business banking operations. The leadership reshuffle follows the September 1 transition of Mike Lyons to CEO and is designed to bring strategic discipline to the bank's 420 billion dollar consumer business.

Shimna Sameer, formerly of Bank of America, joins as chief consumer banking officer, while Jeff Warner, previously of PNC Financial Services Group, becomes chief small business banking officer. D. Steve Boland, also a former Bank of America executive, joins as vice chair to manage strategic initiatives and high-priority agendas.

These appointments follow the departure of Dontá Wilson, the chief consumer and small business banking officer who left the company after more than 30 years. In the interim, Jeff Dunn and Bryan Cram will serve as co-heads of Truist Wealth.
