American Water Appoints New Leaders for Missouri and Illinois

American Water announced leadership transitions for its Missouri and Illinois subsidiaries on October 14, 2026. The changes follow the resignation of Rich Svindland, the president of Missouri American Water, who is leaving the company on October 23, 2026, to pursue a new professional opportunity.

Rebecca Losli, who has led Illinois American Water as president since 2022, will transition to the role of president of Missouri American Water. To fill the vacancy in Illinois, the company promoted Brian Eisenloeffel from his previous position as vice president of Operations for Illinois American Water to president.

Cheryl Norton, executive vice president and chief operating officer of American Water, stated that Losli and Eisenloeffel are proven leaders. Norton noted that their combined strengths in engineering, business development, and operations will allow the company to maintain its focus on safety, customer service, and operational excellence in both states.
