Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran Receives Record FY26 Pay

Tata Sons Executive Chairman N Chandrasekaran received a record remuneration of Rs 158.66 crore in FY26 following strong group financial growth.

Tata Sons Executive Chairman N Chandrasekaran received a total remuneration of Rs 158.66 crore in FY26, the highest annual compensation since the holding company began disclosing director pay in FY22. The payout consists of a Rs 140.69 crore profit-linked commission and Rs 17.97 crore in salary and benefits, the latter representing an 18% increase over FY25. This compensation accounted for nearly 80% of the total remuneration paid to all Tata Sons directors.

The record pay follows a period of significant financial growth for the organization. Tata Sons reported an annual profit increase of 22% to Rs 32,000 crore and a revenue increase of 9% to Rs 42,000 crore. At the broader group level, Tata Group net profit jumped 51.9% to Rs 1,70,525 crore. Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director Saurabh Agrawal was the second-highest-paid manager, earning Rs 33.69 crore.

Shareholders will vote on Chandrasekaran's directorship at an annual general meeting on August 18, as he is due to retire by rotation despite his chairmanship term running through February 2027. Additionally, the board has recommended a dividend of Rs 1,10,717 per share, which would result in a projected cash outflow of Rs 4,474.58 crore.
